I use a meguairs all purpose cleaner diluted 50% with water ( with engine warm NOT hot) I spray it all over the engine bay cover any open air filters and alternators. Let that sit for about 5 mins, then I power spray and wipe dry. I usually put tire shine on the rubber and I will polish most metals under the hood with mothers mag and aluminum polish.

NOTE: 2v guys, while the steps are similar for you please be careful of your coil packs as they are not protected as well as the 4v's.

Ben, what day(s) are you around next week for possibly exterior detailing and maybe under the hood on the Cobra?

My paint was real gritty feeling after coming back from my trip to VA Bangin' Gears 2 weeks ago, so I washed the car and clayed it, but now it needs some good polishing and a couple coats of wax. I feel like it looks worse now than it ever has, but I'm really critical like you.

Thanks for the info. Looks like Ben is the man for car detailing. I might be looking for your services next month. Wouldn't be a hard job, probably just the engine bay as the car will have fresh paint on the rear around to the doors. I'll have to grab more info when I get my car back.
