I open tracked my car at Lime Rock Park, CT last Wednesday. I was having a blast hot lapping some new personal bests running in the Advanced Run Group and all of the sudden my Cobra started to bog down and sputter. I downshifted from 4th to third to see if anything changed (it didn't), then from third to second (still no change), so I basically sputtered and limped back into the Pits and then into the Paddock area where the car rolled to a stop and died.

I decided to break it down and fix what was broken with a few minor upgrades. Turns out it was the rings. Hey... I bought a few gauges off of EBAY to fill my A-pillar pod that I bought and have decided not to use the fuel pressure gauge. As the title states its a Phantom series mechanical gauge 5712.

I only bought the gauge pod so I could install an oil pressure gauge after I had my bearing issue... this gauge says "must be mounted outside of vehicle" right on it... so I will get a vac gauge or something to fill the spot...

Well I guess I am a bit disappointed... but at the same time not really considering I had a slipping clutch and I did not launch off the 2step once because I thought it would make the clutch slip more. Anyways my first run was a 12.8 @113mph, my second run was a 12.8 @105mph (I should have had alot better run on this one, during the 2-3 shift my clutch became unadjusted... if you will. This was a problem when i first had the car and it made going into gears very difficult) anywho after the 2-3 ...

Hey... finally did a little updating to the exterior look on my GT... I know it's just another stock GT but hey it's mine!!!

(Note: I didn't put the 04' 40th Anniversary Tags on the fenders... )

I added the hood insert decal from American Muscle as well as the lettering on the scoop... I also removed the aweful pinstriping that was on it when I bought the car...

For the back I put the 4.6L emblem on because there were 3 holes drilled in the trunk ...

Ok so things did NOT work out as i planned. to keep it short the forged crank needed to be shaved and i had to use the stock crank in order to not blow my cover with my parents who are total assholes when it comes to me modding my car. You guys think if i come up on the 22nd you guys could help me pull the motor and unbolt the oilpan etc and take the stock crank out and throw the forged one in? I think it would be easier for installing the turbo kit no? As we sort of need to get those headers ...
